Overview
The Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) brings together 179 universities from 25 countries. It works to promote academic and scientific cooperation across the Euro-Mediterranean area, sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and the Western Balkans. UNIMED aims to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic development in these regions.
UNIMED focuses on six priority areas:
- University governance
- Digital education
- Intercultural dialogue
- Employability
- Migrants and refugees
- Sustainable development
With co-funding from donors, UNIMED runs several projects together with its member universities, institutional partners and other stakeholders.
