Overview
The National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale – INSERM) is a public institution dedicated to biological and medical research and human health. Its regional office for the East of France (délégation régionale pour l'Est) is located on the Nouvel Hôpital Civil site in Strasbourg, in the eXplora building on the NextMed campus.
The University of Strasbourg and INSERM share several research laboratories (eight joint research units, one joint service unit and three accredited research teams). They also share responsibility for scientific platforms and national research infrastructures.
