    Overview

The Open University of Strasbourg (OPUS) initiative supports the university’s mission to engage with society, building links between science, society and the socio-economic world. It is funded through the French Government's Investment for the Future Programme 3 (programme d'investissements d'avenir – PIA3) and the French National Research Agency's IDéES programme. OPUS is an eight-year initiative, running from June 2021 to June 2029.

    The OPUS initiative aims to:

    • Connect science with society
    • Develop and strengthen opportunities for co-creation, co-research and collaboration
    • Support societal transitions
    • Increase the visibility and impact of the university in society
    • Ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to the university's relations with society
    • Launch major collaborative projects with multiple partners
    • Strengthen partnerships with community and business partners
