How does the University of Strasbourg make use of the "Science avec et pour la société" label?

The University of Strasbourg has structured its science and society activities around the Office for Scientific Culture and Mediation – Jardin des sciences and the Mission for University Relations with Society (Mission relations à la société). It also launched the Tactus project, which follows an action plan based on three pillars:

Pillar 1 (in partnership with the Université de Haute-Alsace) - Strengthening links between researchers and citizens throughout Alsace

  • Establishing a network of "science in society" players in Alsace
  • Developing mobile scientific mediation resources
  • Defining a programme of scientific cultural events in Alsace

Pillar 2 - Deploying more targeted measures for the university community

  • Setting up seminars and schools of mediation and intermediation
  • Involving students in research and participatory science
  • Recognising the commitment of the university community and the public

Pillar 3 - Structuring the university's scientific communication in the media

  • Connecting the worlds of science and the media
  • Creating a "Sciences" column in the Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace (DNA) and L'Alsace newspapers
  • Producing videos and podcasts for social networks
