    Overview

The University Life Office (Service de la vie universitaire – SVU) welcomes and supports all students while actively promoting and enhancing student life at the University of Strasbourg.

    Welcoming and supporting all students

To ensure every student feels welcomed and supported from the very beginning of their university journey, the University Life Office offers the following services and initiatives:

    • Guidance, information and support for students throughout the year at the Studium, by appointment
    • Welcome events, including the University of Strasbourg’s start-of-year events, where new and returning students can complete all registration and settling-in procedures in one place

    Supporting students with disabilities

The University Life Office's Disability Support Department offers a dedicated welcome and support programme to welcome and support students with disabilities so they can make the most of their studies and university experience. The department organises any necessary support or accommodations outlined in the University Disability Charter (Charte université-handicap) and offers advice on study plans and career paths.

    This support includes:

    • Human support – tailored welcome and support, assessment of individual needs, study assistants, exam secretaries and sign language interpreters
    • Technical and technological support – loan of specialised equipment, access to the Diversité room (Studium) equipped with IT tools, access to the Handivie room (Studium), rest and wellbeing and room and specialised equipment in certain libraries
    • Disability Officers – a network of staff in each faculty and service who help adapt teaching and organise exams and assessments for students with disabilities

    Enhancing student life

The University Life Office actively promotes and supports student life through a range of services and initiatives:

    • Student support services – job services, welcome services and emergency financial aid
    • Support for student associations – helping create new associations, issuing official recognition, providing advice and offering logistical support for campus events
    • Student Project Commission (Commission d’aide aux projets étudiants – CAPE) – through this joint commission, the University Life Office and the Regional Centre for University and Student Services (CROUS) provide logistical and financial support to student projects and student associations at the University of Strasbourg. Learn more about CAPE on the intranet (Ernest)
    • Campulse – the platform at the heart of student life, helping students participate in events and manage associations
