The CIFRE scheme

The Convention industrielle de formation par la recherche (CIFRE) provides funding for businesses, associations and French public-sector organisations that hire a PhD student to play a central role in a research collaboration with a public research laboratory. It is a valuable opportunity for businesses to develop a research and development project with the support of leading academic expertise. To help you with the process, Conectus supports you every step of the way, from drafting to signing the agreement.

Take advantage of proven innovative technologies

Access cutting-edge technologies developed in the university’s public research laboratories to enter new markets or explore new industrial opportunities. Each technology developed through public research in Alsace is:

  • Risk-mitigated (validated proof of concept, confirmed market suitability)
  • Protected (secured patents and know-how)
  • Suited to a specific industrial application

Integrate and industrialise the technology of your choice on a large scale with an operating licence. The Conectus team supports you throughout the process, from identifying technologies that match your business needs to negotiating with the research laboratories that developed them. They can also help you finalise the terms of the operating licence.
