The Academic Network on Inclusiveness, Multilingualism and Excellence (ANIME) brings together 12 higher education institutions from central and eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The network fosters reflection and experimentation around shared values in areas such as teaching innovation, excellence initiatives and best practices.

    Overview

The University of Strasbourg launched the Academic Network on Inclusiveness, Multilingualism and Excellence (ANIME) in 2020 as part of the Initiative of Excellence (IdEx) programme “Internationalising the university: from bilateral cooperation to network-based cooperation.” It was then formally established as a consortium in 2025. The network has opened up new opportunities for collaboration with higher education institutions in central and eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

The network supports a wide range of activities, including meetings, conferences and scientific events, as well as mobility opportunities and Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP).

    Objectives

The Academic Network on Inclusiveness, Multilingualism and Excellence has set three key objectives:

    • Encouraging joint initiatives for the entire university community
    • Developing joint responses to calls for projects from international programmes
    • Facilitating exchanges and mobility between the network’s universities
