Overview
The Franco-German University (FGU) brings together over 200 French and German institutions. It works to encourage the creation of Franco-German degree programmes across all disciplines, evaluates these programmes and contributes to their funding.
The Franco-German degree programmes supported by the FGU enable French and German students to study together, alternating periods of study in France, Germany or Switzerland. These bi-national courses give students the opportunity to discover the teaching methods of the two countries, develop linguistic and intercultural skills and obtain a degree in each of the partner universities involved in their programme. The University of Strasbourg offers over 40 double degrees accredited by the FGU. The university has also received this accreditation for nine of its doctoral colleges.
