    Overview

    The Library Management Office is responsible for implementing the university’s document and information policy. It acquires and manages a wide range of resources, makes them available to the university community and offers numerous services to support teaching and research.

    The Library Management Office oversees a network of 23 university libraries across six campuses, providing students, faculty, researchers, administrative staff and members of the public with access to a wide range of printed books and journals across all disciplines. Collections are freely accessible in the library or available from storage on request. 

    The Library Management Office also offers a wealth of digital resources, including online journals, e-books, databases, theses and dissertations through the University of Strasbourg library website as well as digitized historical documents via the Alsatian Academic Digital Heritage Library.

    The Library Management Office is also responsible for: 

    • Preserving and enhancing collections
    • Training users in information and research skills
    • Developing digital library resources
    • Organising cultural events and science outreach activities
    • Sharing and promoting scientific and technical information
    • Managing and organising the library information and documentation system
    • Collaborating with local and national library partners

    Library Access

    The libraries are open all day from Monday to Friday. Some are also open on weekends.

    Library resources and services

    The libraries offer a wide range of services to support study, teaching and research, including:

    • Access to printed and online resources through a single portal
    • Access to a wide range of resources, available for borrowing
    • Return of borrowed items to any library of your choice
    • Training in research skills
    • Interlibrary loan (Prêt entre bibliothèques – PEB) in France and internationally
    • Live tracking of library occupancy and group study room reservations via the Affluences mobile app
    • Group study rooms and individual workspaces
    • Wi-Fi, copying, printing and scanning
    • Lending of equipment (laptops, projectors, USB drives, headphones, etc.)
    • Accessible facilities and services for users with disabilities
    • Access to all services with the campus pass
