Description du contenu de l'enseignement
The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic fundamental knowledge of protein engineering as well as to illustrate practical applications in this field. Students will obtain knowledge regarding the understanding of protein structure and factors that contribute to the functions of proteins. Lectures will be accompanied by a practical training in molecular modelling of proteins. In addition, students will be assigned individual projects where they will be able to apply their knowledge to solve protein engineering problem in silico. They will also learn how to critically analyze a publication in the field of protein engineering.
Protein structure and stability, protein folding and aggregation, methods of production of proteins, expanded genetic code, creation of diversity in proteins, directed evolution, membrane proteins, post-translational modifications, protein-protein interactions, protein design, enzyme engineering, protein biomaterials and protein networks, molecular modelling software for biomolecules.
