There were 42 260 students registered on 15th January 2010 (19.8% foreign students):

  • 14 978 in Arts, Literature, Languages, Social Sciences and Humanities.
  • 11 524 in Law, Economics and Management.
  • 8 620 in Science and Technologies.
  • 7 138 in Health.

Foreign students represent 19.8% of the university student population. The higher the degree, the higher the percentage of foreign students: 47% in doctoral studies, 31% in Master's programs, and 15% in Bachelor's programs.

The highest percentage of our foreign students come from EU countries (32%). Another 8% come from European countries outside of the EU. African students represent 29%, and students from Asia and Oceania 23%. Only 8% come from the USA, Canada and South America.

The ten most common nationalities are: Morocco (520 students), Germany (491), China (472) Luxembourg (435), Algeria (420), Turkey (299), Bulgaria (273), Rumania (267), Russia (216) and Tunisia (211). There are 150 different nationalities of students at the University of Strasbourg.
